My Christmas

About two months ago, my husband and I made the decision to move to Arizona.  The same night we made this decision I found out I would have to spend six weeks away from him.  During these six weeks I would be finishing student teaching, graduating, celebrating Christmas and New Years without him AND missing his birthday.  I was devastated to say the least.

When Christmastime came around, I headed home to my home town and spent a week with my parents.  Although I missed my bestfriend/husband, it was a gift in itself to spend Christmas with my parents, sister, nephews and grandma.  I enjoyed my time with them thoroughly, but my heart ached for my husband every other minute.  Sob, sob.

I was spoiled with gracious gifts this year.  I got some cash, 31 Gifts makeup bags, Ikea & Forever21 gift cards, a leather messenger bag and some makeup.

When my mother brought me back to my temporary residence at my MIL & FIL's, there was a gift sitting on the table from my husband.  He sent me the TOMS I had asked for, but more importantly there was a letter for me.  A thoughtful, meaningful letter written by the man I love.  I thought it couldn't get much better than that, but as I reached the last page, I couldn't help but skip to the bottom of the page where I sway the words "turn around."  Well, I had sat in the wrong spot, I was in a chair facing a wall, so turning around didn't make much sense.  I looked up somewhat confused and saw this guy:

There stood my husband.  He was flown home to me!

What I thought was going to be the saddest, loneliest Christmas turned into my favorite one to date.
